Wolves have been named among the clubs interested in signing Gabriel Barbosa from Flamengo, in a report by 90Min.
They say that Newcastle, West Ham, Chelsea and Aston Villa are also keen, with the Magpies and Hammers furthest advanced with their interest.
But Wolves have apparently made contact over the striker, who wants to make a move to England.

Barbosa, who is also sometimes known as Gabigol, scored 29 goals in 2020/21 for Flamengo, with the Brazilian calendar scheduled slightly differently to Europe’s.
Bruno Lage has already said he wants the club to sign a new striker before the end of the January transfer window.
Wolves still need reliable backup for Raul Jimenez, with Lage not having given a Premier League start to Fabio Silva so far this season.

That said, the report says that a deal for Barbosa would cost in the region of £30 million, with mega-rich Newcastle now capable of meeting that demand.
Wolves look unlikely to spend big money in January, and it is even less likely that they would spend £30 million on a backup hitman mid-season.
So unless something changes in terms of the finances of the deal, it appears unlikely that Gabigol will be wearing old gold by February.
