Wolves reportedly received a weird offer for winger Pedro Neto before Chelsea swooped in for the Portuguese star.
For Pedro Neto and Wolves, it has seemed inevitable that the winger would move on from Molineux for a while.
Although injuries have held him back of late, when he’s on top form, the Portuguese superstar can arguably play in most teams across Europe and in the Premier League.
On Friday, it was revealed that Chelsea had finally made a breakthrough in a transfer for Neto, who has previously attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Wanderers had set a £60 million price tag on their prized asset in the past however, much like in the transfer of Max Kilman to West Ham, they were happy to accept just below that asking price.
After add-ons, a deal is reportedly worth £54m to Wolves and that is far better than the laughable offer Tottenham sent their way.

Tottenham tried including Oliver Skipp in swap deal for Pedro Neto
According to Express & Star journalist Liam Keen, Tottenham were also interested in snapping up the Wolves winger.
However, in their attempts to sign the Portuguese international, their ‘bizarre’ offer – which included midfielder Oliver Skipp in a swap deal – was essentially laughed off by the Wanderers hierarchy.

Speaking on the E&S podcast, Wolves expert Keen said: “Both Spurs and Chelsea had made previous offers for Neto in the last few days and weeks. Interesting that both Spurs and Chelsea offered player plus cash offers.
“I’ve been able to get the full details of which players and cash were involved but I do know that it was Oliver Skipp, the midfielder from Spurs that made which was a bizarre offer. As far as I understand it, the offers of players and cash were pretty underwhelming, hence why Wolves were quick to reject them.”
Skipp only started five times under Ange Postecoglu last term and is a player Tottenham are looking to get off the books but understandably, he’s nowhere near good enough for Wolves midfield.
Wolves are miles better than Skipp
Newly-promoted duo Southampton and Ipswich have shown an interest in Skipp while Championship side Leeds United wanted to take him on loan.
For clubs coming up or fighting near the top end of the second tier, the 23-year-old would be a valuable asset, who possesses strong ball-playing skills.
Wolves, on the other hand, already have a player like that in Tommy Doyle, with the England under-21 star levels ahead of Skipp with his performances.
It also speaks volumes that Doyle struggled to start regularly for Gary O’Neil last term as he preferred a dominant midfield duo of Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes.
Indeed, Wolves were right to laugh off Spurs offer including Skipp, who fumbled their chance to sign Neto in that one moment.
