The Kevin Danso transfer saga is set to come to a sour end as the 26-year-old is set to make a transfer U-turn, serving as a huge blow to Vitor Pereira.
It may be easy to forget that Wolves secured a 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday as different news dominated the headlines.
After scoring the second goal at Molineux, Matheus Cunha is finally set to sign a 4.5-year contract at Wolves, effectively keeping him at the club till 2029.
Supporters will be delighted to finally see their talisman sign a new deal, ruling out any chance of him leaving before deadline day.
The other big news to break on Saturday involved Kevin Danso. It was revealed that Wolves had finally agreed a loan deal for Danso after a week of negotiating, with the 26-year-old set to undergo his medical on Sunday.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, a Premier League rival has now turned the Austrian’s head at the last minute and he has now snubbed a move to Wolverhampton.

Vitor Pereira dealt a crushing blow as Tottenham hijack Kevin Danso deal
It was only at around 8 pm on Saturday when it looked as though Danso was heading to Molineux but to the frustration of everyone involved with the club, that is no longer the case.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Danso has snubbed the chance to sign for Wolves, seeing his medical get cancelled and he’s now on his way to Tottenham.
The reliable journalist has revealed that Spurs have agreed a 5.5-year contract for the defender in a deal worth a reported €25m (£21m).
From being on top of the world after beating Aston Villa and seeing Cunha agree on a new contract, fans have been handed a bitter pill to swallow.
It puts Pereira back to the drawing board in the chase for a centre-back with time running out to do some business.
Toti Gomes’ return is massive for Wolves
When Danso had his medical booked in and had supposedly agreed on a deal, most would have thought he was nailed on to join.
However, in typical Wolves fashion, they’ve even lost out on someone when a player has agreed to have a medical at the club.
With just two days left to get some business across the line and fulfil Pereira’s ambition of three more signings, the club must get a move on.
Centre-back depth is a must heading into the final stretch of the season, although Toti Gomes’ return to action would have filled supporters with confidence in improved fortunes.
Toti has been sidelined for over a month but the 25-year-old was magnificent against Villa, performing wonderfully on the left of a back three and allowing Emmanuel Agbadou to move centrally.
This is a huge boost for Wolves in their battle for survival and somehow adding another addition before the deadline could be the final piece to their defensive puzzle.
