Wolves reach £17m agreement and personal terms for forward, but there’s still one concern

Wolves are interested in bolstering their attacking lineup further and have been making good progress on a £17 million deal for one of La Liga’s most exciting youngsters.

There’s been a lot of noise about Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future after Newcastle made their first official offer, but an incoming deal is going slightly under the radar.

It’s one Wolves desperately need to revive an attack that has been lifeless in the opening games of the season.

Wolves agree £17m move for Christantus Uche but Getafe are stalling

Wolves have come to an agreement with Getafe for 22-year-old attacker Christantus Uche.

The Nigerian has been on Wolves’ radar all summer, and the Spanish side must sell to ease FFP pressures. But there’s one problem.

As John Percy reports for The Telegraph: “It is expected to be a busy final week of the window for the club with a fee and personal terms agreed for Uche earlier on Monday. However Getafe are delaying finalising the deal because of interest from AC Milan who are considering making a counter-offer.”

What looked like a done deal now seems to be up in the air.

Christantus Uche was tight-lipped about his future before Sevilla game

Uche was making his way to the team bus when he was confronted by a group of journalists wanting some insight into the Nigerian’s future and if he would be playing.

He chose to keep quiet, waving off cameras with a smile and a thumbs up.

Wolves fans will be tensely awaiting an update on the situation, desperate for another body to be added to a currently toothless attack.

If the deal falls through and Uche goes to Milan, the club will be under huge pressure to pursue another forward target with under a week to go in the window.
