Transfer News

Wolves’ prospective new signing has just been spotted at Compton for his medical, £3m player set to depart on loan

Wolves are still hard at work with just a couple of hours left to go on transfer deadline day.

Wolves have been very busy, with Sam Johnstone confirmed as a new signing earlier today.

Confirmation of the Andre deal is expected very soon, and Carlos Forbs is also set to sign.

In terms of outgoings, Fabio Silva has now officially joined Spanish outfit Las Palmas, and it is expected that Daniel Podence will also seal his move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab at some point.

Another player who is leaving Wolves today is Chiquinho, which is happening as a direct result of the Forbs deal.

When Pedro Neto was being sold to Chelsea, it was claimed that Wolves had interest in Carlos Forbs of Ajax.

It then went quiet for a couple of weeks and today the club reignited their interest in the Portuguese youngster.

Wolves had been priced out of a move for Burnley winger Luca Koleosho, and also couldn’t bring in Yoane Wissa from Brentford.

The club turned their attention back to Forbs today, and agreement was reached a few hours ago. He is going to sign on loan, and if he plays around 10 games for the club the move will become permanent for £11.4 million.

In the last moments, Forbs has been spotted by Sky Sports reporter Danyal Khan arriving at Compton Park for his medical.

In another report on X, Khan has said that Forbs signing for Wolves now means Chiquinho will head out on loan, which was something suggested as a possibility earlier today. The 24-year-old will join Mallorca on a straight loan, with no options or obligations to buy.

Exciting times

Wolves signing Forbs is exciting.

The youngster was once one of Manchester City’s brightest academy talents, and his potential is big.

It will be really interesting to see how he will get on in the Premier League with Wolves, and hopefully, he can hit the ground running. He will surely be able to settle fairly quickly, with a lot of the squad obviously able to speak Portuguese.

It is a slight shame that £3 million man Chiquinho will leave on loan. He did look rather lively the other night against Burnley.

But the lack of a buy option/obligation does indicate that Wolves intend to assess him again next summer.
