Wolves will be hoping an exciting summer of transfer business takes centre stage at Molineux, with Vitor Pereira eyeing several recruits.
Wolves want to sign two number 10s as they prepare for Matheus Cunha’s departure, but Pereira is also scouring the market for a defensive-minded midfielder.
Reports last week linked Wolves with Genoa’s Morten Frendrup, someone who has been compared to former Chelsea dynamo N’Golo Kante and could rival Andre for a place in the starting lineup.
Pereira could also look to English shores to find a midfielder capable of playing in a deep-lying role, with one star emerging as an option from the Championship.

Wolves linked with Hull City midfielder Gustavo Puerta
According to journalist Ekrem Konur on X, Wolves are in the mix to sign Hull City midfielder Gustavo Puerta this summer.

The Tigers captured Puerta on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last summer and his move from the German giants will be triggered permanently for £3 million.
But despite a clause in his contract being activated, the 21-year-old could already be on the move this summer after impressing in the Championship.
The youngster has appeared 30 times in the second tier since joining from Bayer Leverkusen, becoming a crucial player in the heart of Ruben Selles’ engine room.
The Colombian is a robust, tackling machine, capable of winning possession back for his team and taking the fight to his opponents. As highlighted by Sofascore, the midfielder has recovered 3.8 balls and won 1.3 tackles per game.
Puerta has been dubbed ‘exciting’ by talent scout Jacek Kulig due to his ability to glide across the pitch with the ball, and former manager Xabi Alonso has also endorsed his talents.

Xabi Alonso thinks Puerta is ‘top-level’
Alonso sanctioned the loan move of Puerta to Hull last summer after he made just 10 appearances in all competitions.
He was part of the side that won the Bundesliga title and lost in the Europa League final in 2023/24, gaining invaluable experience at such a young age.
Speaking last year, Alonso said of the young Colombian via RCN Noticias: “Gustavo Puerta made a big step forward last year. He is very calm on the ball, finds creative solutions even under pressure, is strong in tackling and is technically very skilled. What particularly characterises him is his motivation to improve every day.
“He works with great concentration in training and has great charisma in his desire to constantly improve. Gustavo is a player you can always rely on, when you need him, he is there. He is currently having a fantastic development towards becoming a top-level player,” he added.
Puerta is seeking an exit move out of Hull after they narrowly avoided relegation, and if City can recoup more than the £3 million they’re expected to pay, it’s best for both parties.
That being said, the midfielder perhaps hasn’t shown enough to suggest he’s ready for a Premier League move just yet.
