Wolves’ plan for Enso Gonzalez as two January options emerge

Enso Gonzalez has been linked with a move away from Wolves.

At the beginning of December, Gonzalez was tipped by Paraguayan media to leave the Wanderers, and those suggestions seem to have more legs now.

The 20-year-old has struggled to receive game time throughout his career at Molineux, with a sole one-minute appearance coming in the 2023/2024 season.

Ever since, the attacking midfielder has had to find chances in the academy, but as it is a World Cup year, he will no doubt want an opportunity to represent Paraguay in North America.

And if he needs to find game time away from Wolves, that may be easy to find based on the latest reports.

Would you allow Enzo Gonzalez to leave in January, or would you give him a chance to impress Rob Edwards?

Signed in 2023/2024 and only has one minute on the pitch for the first team.

Enso Gonzalez has loan options in Spain and Turkey

Enso Gonzalez has been in first-team training under Rob Edwards, but he has been unable to make his way into a matchday squad for the Old Gold.

Players such as Mateus Mane and Tawanda Chirewa have been given chances, yet Gonzalez continues to be left out.

That will be frustrating for the player, who has not been given much opportunity to show his qualities.

And now, reports out of Paraguay state he has multiple options away from the club.

Paraguayan news outlet Vs Sports says, “Enso has chances to go out on loan. We understand that options have already appeared in Spain and in Turkey so that Enso can get minutes ahead of the World Cup, because that’s what he asked of his manager: to play.

“He’s already shown the quality he has; he needs continuity and has strong chances of going to the World Cup. Therefore, it seems to me that a window could open for a possible transfer or loan for Enzo González to another league where he can have continuity.”

However, while the loan options are on the table, they also state that there could still be a chance for Enso to make an impression at Molineux.

They say it is ‘possible’ that Wolves end up playing Gonzalez more often, and that the idea of loaning him out is just one of many possibilities.

If you are Rob Edwards in January, who is one player you would sell, and one player you’d replace them with? 💰

Wolves players have asked for more minutes due to World Cup

Speaking out about Wolves’ January plans, Edwards insisted none of his top players will be sold, but he also gave an insight into the thinking process of some of his players.

Edwards admitted the World Cup is certainly on the minds of a few by saying (via Express and Star), “There’s been one or two that aren’t playing that are saying, ‘How can I get in the team? I need to play because there’s a World Cup.’

That would line up with the news out of Paraguay and the ambitions Enso Gonzalez has for the summer.

It remains to be seen what the final decision is, but with his nation already qualified for the competition, that is sure to be the main goal for Gonzalez.

If Wolves cannot offer him game time, he could push to leave.
