With the January transfer window closing in, Wolves are seeking to improve their squad after a poor start to the season.
January presents a big opportunity for Wolves. With the club just one place above the relegation zone, key reinforcements could be key to keeping the Old Gold in the Premier League.
Defenders are particularly needed. As it stands, Wolves have the joint-worst defence in the division with 42 goals conceded in 19 matches.
With Toti Gomes now also out with an injury, emphasis on a new centre-half could not be higher.
As a result, the club have now reportedly opened talks to sign a defender ahead of the January transfer window.
Wolves ‘open talks’ to sign Kevin Danso

Kevin Danso has been linked to Wolves for some time. The centre-back has been at Lens since 2021 and competed in the Champions League last season.
Danso also competed in the Euros in the summer for his native Austria where they reached the round of 16.
In the summer, Danso was linked with a move to Wolves, but the transfer never materialised.
Following the Old Gold’s awful defensive record, the club are now thought to be be in for the defender.
Liam Keen had previously reported Danso is Wolves top centre-back target but now it is believed that progress has been made with the potential transfer.
According to Nicolo Schira, the club have now opened talks to try and sign the defender.
Wolves need to act quickly in the January transfer window

With Wolves still amidst a relegation battle, they must act quickly in the transfer window to secure their targets.
They cannot afford to wait until later in the window, especially when areas such as the defence are in vital need of reinforcements.
Hopefully, this report is a sign that Wolves are planning to do their business early and bring in much needed additions that can win the club some points in January.
There is no doubt that Danso would improve Pereira’s backline and the defender needs to be brought in as soon as possible.
