Wolves have today announced the signing of young striker Fletcher Holman from National League South side Eastbourne Borough.
The club have swooped for the talented 19-year-old, who is going to link up with James Collins’ U21 squad.
He follows Matthew Whittingham, Tawanda Chirewa and Dani Angel, who all joined the club’s academy in the second half of 2023.
Holman had been with Eastbourne Borough after he left Brighton & Hove Albion as a youngster, and he worked his way through the academy ranks to eventually earn a first-team chance at Priory Lane.
Impressively, Holman scored 10 goals for the club in 15 games so it’s easy to see why Wolves came calling – and Jon Hunter-Barrett, Wolves’ academy manager for football, and head of UK academy recruitment Harry Hooman believe this is one very exciting addition for the club…
Wolves have landed a gem in Fletcher Holman, suggests John Hunter-Barrett
News of this move has been officially confirmed today by the club, after there were reports last week about it being a done deal.
Before sealing his move to Molineux, Holman had actually had a trial with the club’s U21s, according to The Argus.
After he impressed Wolves then agreed a deal with the National League South side, although it is currently unclear how much the club have paid.
For Wolves, it is an exciting signing and Hunter-Barrett has offered his verdict to supporters, telling the club’s official website: “Once again our recruitment team have done a fantastic job in unearthing a talent playing in non-league football who is capable to come into our building.
“The big thing with Wolves is we’re a football club and academy that provides opportunities for players who have been here a long time and also players who have come from a different environment into ours.”
Harry Hooman offered some insight into Holman as a player, adding: “He’s direct, got good pace and movement. He loves to stretch the game, run in behind and run off defenders – he’s a goalscorer as well. His attitude is excellent on and off the pitch so there shouldn’t be any problems in terms of him settling.”

Holman looks a great prospect
So Wolves have officially landed Holman and this youngster looks to have some cracking potential.
The most exciting thing about this is that Holman already has some experience playing senior football and has scored goals – 10 in 15 games this season to be precise.
That is going to stand him in very good stead, and should help him to stand out playing for Wolves’ U21s.
He just needs to find his feet first and hopefully he will really develop in the coming months and perhaps get involved with first-team training later down the line.
It is not uncommon for Wolves to have their best youngsters training with the first-team, and also not uncommon these days for top talents to actually experience competitive first-team football, with Hugo Bueno, Luke Cundle, Joe Hodge, Theo Corbeanu, Nathan Fraser, Dexter Lembikisa to name but a few who have come through.
