Wolves now want ‘special’ £41k-a-week gem on loan from PL giants

Wolves have reportedly asked Liverpool if they can have the talented winger Fabio Carvalho on loan until the end of the season.

The January transfer window hasn’t been open a week yet, but already Wolves are looking set for a busy month.

On the outgoings front, Sasa Kalajdzic is on the verge of completing a loan departure to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Meanwhile, there is expected interest for Pedro Neto floating around despite Wolves not being keen to sell.

Max Kilman has also been linked with a move away, as has Jose Sa who is wanted by Nottingham Forest.

After all these links pointing toward players departing, finally, it looks like Wolves are making a move to bring someone in.

Wolves want Fabio Carvalho on loan

The player Wolves are looking to bring to Molineux is Fabio Carvalho who spent the first half of this season on loan at RB Leipzig.

However, with Liverpool unhappy with his loan, he’s been recalled and now is due to find a different loan – and Wolves are hoping it’s them.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Wolves have asked to sign Carvalho on a loan until the end of this season. Competition for his signature is expected from clubs currently in the Championship top six and the player and club will now decide.

Liverpool are said to want guaranteed game-time for the youngster which could leave Wolves at a disadvantage. On the other hand, his £41k-a-week wage is one which many Championship sides could struggle to cover.

Where would Carvalho fit in at Wolves?

Carvalho is, as Klopp describes him a ‘special player‘ and is bursting with talent. He is immense and has already showcased his ability in the Premier League.

The Portugal U21 international is an attacking midfielder who can also play on the left and deeper as a number eight.

He’d be an excellent option for Old Gold to compete for minutes with the likes of Pablo Sarabia, Matheus Cunha and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

A move we’d definitely like to see done but hopefully beyond just six months.
