Wolves are looking to finish the transfer window strongly – and the club are showing late interest in an unwanted player at West Ham United.
Wolves made a positive start to the summer, but have been very quiet in recent weeks.
However, things are about to pick up and it is possible the club could now bring in around three or four new players by the close of play tomorrow.
Bastien Meupiyou and Sam Johnstone are thought to have had their medicals and will soon be announced. An agreement was reached last week for the Frenchman’s transfer, and Wolves are thought to be landing Johnstone for around £10 million.
But Wolves won’t stop there.
It is thought a new centre-back could be on the cards – and there is now word of interest in West Ham United defender Nayef Aguerd.
Wolves interested in signing Nayef Aguerd on loan from West Ham

It has been reported by journalist Jacob Steinberg via The Guardian that Wolves are now showing late interest in centre-back Nayef Aguerd from West Ham United.
Wanderers would be looking to take the Morocco international on loan.
Aguerd is not wanted by Julen Lopetegui and is out of favour at the London Stadium.
Aguerd joined the Hammers in a £30 million deal two years ago. He has made 58 appearances for the Irons, scoring four goals.
Wolves and West Ham, of course, only did business together earlier this summer when West Ham bought Max Kilman for £40 million.
The clubs also did business in January 2023 when Wolves purchased Craig Dawson. Potentially, the good relationship between the clubs could now see Aguerd head to Molineux.
E&S journalist Liam Keen has also reported Wolves’ interest in Aguerd, writing on X: “Wolves interested in West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd. Nothing close but a loan possible before the end of the window. One to keep an eye on.”
Aguerd could be a smart addition by Wolves

This a big claim and it will be very interesting to see if a deal can happen.
Aguerd is out of favour at the London Stadium and has long been linked with an exit this summer.
Perhaps the relationship between Wolves and West Ham could see something happen here. That said, West Ham may want to avoid doing Wolves a big favour, like they did before with Dawson.
But it could be good if Wolves can get him in.
Ultimately Aguerd has Premier League experience having made 39 appearances in the competition, and is a left-footer which would be handy after losing Kilman.
