Wolves now set to reignite interest in EFL gem after seeing summer bid rejected

Wolves had a bid rejected for Norwich star Jonathan Rowe over the summer and now there’s a suggestion they could be set to return.

Wolves have several different positions which could benefit from some strengthening either in January or at the end of this season. Central defence is the area which needs an addition along with a striker, however with Pedro Neto‘s fitness unreliable, a winger also needs to be on the agenda.

This to see Gary O’Neil‘s side retain their attacking threat and safeguard against potential interest in Neto in 2024. Now with less than two weeks until the transfer window opens, reports have begun to heat up.

One player in particular has now been linked and it’s a name the Molineux side are very familiar with, having been interested during the summer. That being Championship talent Jonathan Rowe.

Jonathan Rowe to Wolves could be back on

Wolves could potentially renew interest in Norwich City forward Jonathan Rowe in January despite the Canaries being reportedly desperate to keep their key man according to The Sun.

Rowe has been a player Wolves have now wanted for a while with a £15m bid rejected by Norwich in August. The forward since then has only improved and established himself among the Championship’s best attackers.

This is exactly what Wolves need with a clear drop in quality beyond the immediate starters however it is likely that Rowe would be brought in with the view that he would eventually be starting.

The idea of Rowe joining gives O’Neil so many exciting attacking combinations to choose from, a player with such a goal threat would be in impeccable addition to Old Gold. But how would be be used?

Where does Jonathan Rowe fit in at Wolves?

This season Rowe has played 20 games in the Championship for Norwich, and his stats show just how excellent he has been. 10 goals and an assist in this time just perfectly epitomises what he’d bring to Old Gold.

Primarily a left-winger, Rowe would be perfect here and would offer a threat Wolves don’t currently have on the left. In fact with Neto on the right and Rowe on the left, Wolves would have a really balanced forward line.

Both sides capable of scoring and assisting, with Hwang Hee-Chan in the middle to profit along with Matheus Cunha.
