Wolves are reportedly now trying to sign Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto on loan, with just over a day left to go in the January transfer window.
It has been a frustrating window so far for Wanderers, with a number of targets seemingly unattainable due to the finances involved.
Wolves have been linked with several other strikers, such as Che Adams, Danny Ings, Hugo Ekitike and Armando Broja.
But so far Gary O’Neil and Matt Hobbs have been unsuccessful, with time now running out to get new faces in.
But Wolves are not giving up, and it has been claimed this afternoon that the club are dipping back into the Brazilian market…
Wolves make eleventh hour swoop for Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto

According to the Telegraph’s John Percy this afternoon, Wolves are now attempting to sign Yuri Alberto from Brazilian giants Corinthians.
Wanderers have apparently made a loan proposal for the 22-year-old to come in until the end of the season.
Percy adds on X: “Wolves launch late bid to sign Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto ahead of the deadline. Brazil international is now the #1 target. Talks progressing.”
Last year, one-cap Brazil international Alberto scored 10 goals and made seven assists across all competitions for Corinthians, after joining the club from Zenit St Petersburg.
It is stated in the report that if Wolves are successful with their late swoop for Alberto, then Nathan Fraser could head out on loan.
Previously, Fraser had been lined up for a loan move to Shrewsbury Town, who have wanted him since last summer. But Wolves loaned out Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva and so, the club have kept Fraser at Molineux for the time being.
Big claims with the transfer window soon closing
It will be fascinating to see if Wolves are able to do a deal for Yuri Alberto.
The claim from the Telegraph has come out of the blue, but fans will be hoping that something can happen.
Wolves, of course, have had success raiding the Brazilian market in recent times, signing Joao Gomes from Flamengo one year ago yesterday. The midfielder has proven to be a terrific signing, and there were suggestions after the deal that Wolves were keen to make future signings like Gomes.
It’s been a frustrating window so far, but it’s possible that Wolves may be about to finish with a flourish with Noha Lemina imminent and Alberto now a possibility.
According to South American football expert Nathan Joyes, Alberto is a ‘strong typical number 9’.
