Wolves are reportedly showing an interest in striker Chris Bedia, as the club seek reinforcements this month.
Last night, sporting director Matt Hobbs checked in with supporters and outlined where the club was at regarding the potential to make new signings.
He has made it clear that Wolves will not put themselves at risk this month, but did say Gary O’Neil will be backed if the right player is available and within budget.
O’Neil wants a new striker more than anything in this window, and that need has grown since the departures of Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva on loan.
Several names have been mentioned so far, and now, a new name has been thrown out there by Fabrizio Romano…
Wolves interested in Servette striker Chris Bedia, who had goal-laden 2023

Last night, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Wolves are following the situation of Chris Bedia closely.
Bedia is attracting attention, because his contract with Swiss outfit Servette is expiring this summer.
Bedia is likely to have plenty of interest because in 2023, he scored 28 goals. This season, he is the top scorer in the Swiss league with 10 goals, and has a further six in cup competitions.
Romano said on X: “Chris Bedia, attracting interest as contract at Servette is due to expire in the summer and he’s top scorer in Switzerland – 28 goals in 2023. Werder Bremen, Bologna and Wolves are all following Bedia’s situation closely.”
Previously, Ivorian striker Bedia has had spells in Belgium with Zulte Waregem and Charleroi, and France with Tours, Troyes and Sochaux.
Bedia could be a risk worth taking
So Wolves are potentially looking at a move for Bedia this month, with O’Neil keen to land a new central striker.
It is an interesting transfer link, with Bedia clearly a decent goalscorer. But obviously, he is currently playing in the Swiss league, and the standard of football there is some way lower than the Premier League.
So it would be a risk to bring him in and expect him to continue scoring at the same kind of rate he currently is.
That said, Bedia would theoretically be a fairly cheap signing to make given his contract is running out later this year, diminishing the risk somewhat.
We will see what transpires with the 27-year-old, but he is certainly one to keep an eye on.
