A reported transfer target of Wolves has been given an ultimatum – but a move to Molineux now seems quite unlikely.
Wolves are potentially going to be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer.
A couple of weeks ago, it was claimed that Jose Sa is now ready to leave the club after three seasons, with his agent Jorge Mendes apparently sounding out interest in his client.
Wolves have been linked with several goalkeepers to replace the Portugal international, one of those being Alvaro Valles of Las Palmas.
The Spaniard enjoyed a terrific campaign last term and is thought to be a player of interest to Wolves in the event Sa leaves. It was suggested that Wanderers had actually made contact over him.
But a new report has now cast doubt on him making a move to Molineux this summer.
After being given ultimatum, Alvaro Valles wants to join Real Betis not Wolves

Las Palmas were able to stave off relegation last season thanks in-part to a big contribution from Valles.
The 26-year-old made the most saves of any goalkeeper in the division and as a result of his fine campaign, he has been linked with several clubs.
He was recently given an ultimatum by Las Palmas’ president Miguel Angel Ramirez. Valles has just one year left on his contract, and Ramirez said that he must either renew, or be sold on the club’s terms. If a suitable does not come in for him and Valles does not renew, he will be made to sit in the stands.
Las Palmas have just confirmed the signing of Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, showing the club are prepared for life after him.
This ultimatum would potentially be good news for Wolves.
But Estadio Deportivo report that the player is actually dead set on joining Real Betis. He has apparently already conveyed this to Las Palmas as his ‘only desire’ this summer.
Currently, Las Palmas are hoping to sell the ‘unique’ Valles for around £10 million. However, Betis – knowing Valles only has a year left – are not prepared to offer more than £2.5-£3.3 million right now.
Wolves need to look elsewhere
By the sounds of this report, the chances of Valles now coming to Wolves are very, very slim.
Seemingly, he is really keen to make a move to his former Real Betis, who are seeking a new stopper following the departure of Claudio Bravo.
Wolves will now probably have to look at other options if there is a feeling that Sa will leave this summer.
Sa, despite his potential to make errors, has shown himself to be a fantastic shot-stopper during his three years at Wolves, and it is little surprise several clubs are showing interest in him. He may be a bit limited in terms of his ball-playing, but he still has plenty of other very good attributes.
