Wolves now eyeing another Brazilian midfielder – and he’s already worked with Vitor Pereira

Wolves will be looking to bring in new players this summer, and the club may turn to the South American market once again.

The summer window will be busy for Wolves, with a number of players set to depart.

Matheus Cunha, Nelson Semedo, Pablo Sarabia, Tommy Doyle and Sam Johnstone are all likely to leave Wolves the club, meaning replacements will be needed.

But, as fans have gotten used to in recent times, Wolves love to snap up promising young players.

In January 2023, Wolves signed Joao Gomes from Flamengo, which has proven to be a hugely successful signing.

And now, Wolves could actually be set to raid Flamengo again.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Wolves are one of several clubs taking an interest in Flamengo starlet Evertton Araujo, with data indicating he impressed last season.

Apparently, Wolves have been watching the 22-year-old since Vitor Pereira came to Molineux.

Now, Pereira has previously managed Flamengo, and actually did work with Araujo in early 2023 when he was at the club.

It’s stated that Pereira used to pull youngsters into first-team training, so he knows a bit about Araujo. The publication add that he was one name Pereira suggested to Wolves when he first arrived at Molineux.

The suggestion is that Wolves know Joao Gomes is highly coveted, and are therefore planning to sign a successor.

Gomes signed a new contract at Wolves a few weeks ago though, and will not leave the club this summer.

But few are expecting him to stay at the club for as long as, say, Ruben Neves. Realistically, clubs will be coming in with big offers for him in the coming years.

Wolves looking at players in Brazil is no surprise

Brazil is the new Portugal at Wolves, it would seem.

In recent times, more and more Brazilians have made moves to Molineux and at the moment there are three absolutely top players in the form of Matheus Cunha, Andre and Gomes. Pedro Lima is also a player Wolves have high hopes for.

It’s no surprise Wolves have been looking at more Brazilian players.

Andre and Gomes for a combined £36 million is absolutely superb business, and clearly Brazil is playing host to some serious talents.

As well as Araujo, Wolves have also been linked with Riquelme Fillipi as a possible new forward signing.

Certainly, Wolves fans will welcome suggestions the club are looking in the same place where Gomes and Andre were discovered.
