Wolves now ‘close’ to agreement for Nelson Semedo replacement as Fabrizio Romano drops major transfer update

It is shaping up to be a big week for Wolves in the transfer window, with Fabrizio Romano dropping a significant transfer update last night.

Wolves fans have been clamouring for new signings in recent days, after weeks without one following the arrival of Fer Lopez.

But last week, Wolves reached an agreement with Fluminense to sign Jhon Arias, after a few days of uncertainty.

Arias was seen at an airport on Monday, ahead of jetting in for his medical at Wolves.

Fluminense have already confirmed Arias’ transfer, and it is only a matter of time before those first pictures of the player wearing an old gold shirt are released.

But last night, top journalist Fabrizio Romano provided a significant transfer update involving another target.

There has been real frustration for Wolves fans over the Nelson Semedo situation.

Semedo has not yet revealed whether he is signing the contract offer that was put on the table for him by Wolves at the end of last season.

But it is now clear he won’t be extending.

Vitor Pereira suggested Wolves are actively trying to replace Semedo now – and Fabrizio Romano brought word of a development over Marc Pubill.

He reported last night: “Wolves are close to reaching an agreement for Marc Pubill deal with Almería and player side.

“Negotiations underway with hope to get the deal done in 24/48h.”

Wolves must wrap up Pubill transfer quickly

This is a significant update from Romano and one that perhaps comes slightly out of the blue.

AC Milan had been showing strong interest in Pubill, and the Spaniard had looked on course to make that move, having even done a preliminary medical.

But on Sunday it was suggested that Milan’s move for Pubill was set to fall apart, which put fans right back on red alert.

Wolves now look primed to sign Pubill, and must try to close the deal as quickly as possible.

It would certainly be positive to have both Arias and Pubill confirmed as new Wolves players by the end of the week.
