Wolves now bid £21 million for midfielder who’s seen as possible Matheus Nunes replacement

Wolves have reportedly now made a first bid of £21.4 million for Strasbourg midfielder Habib Diarra.

Wanderers are working overtime to try and get players in before Friday’s transfer deadline.

Tommy Doyle is coming in on loan as part of the deal to take Matheus Nunes to Manchester City.

But the club are working on multiple deals right now.

It is thought that Enso Gonzalez and Santiago Bueno will also sign for the club.

But there is now word of an official bid from Wolves for highly rated midfielder Diarra…

L’Equipe also report on the story. They also say that a £21.4 million offer has been made by Wolves.

It is stated that Wolves want to make Diarra the replacement for City-bound Nunes.

The Alsatians have not yet responded to this proposal. It is added that towards the end of the window, Strasbourg have become a bit looser with their stance over Diarra. Initially, they had not wanted to sell him at all.

Just yesterday, it was suggested that Wolves could make a late play for Diarra. Now, Strasbourg’s resolve is seemingly about to be tested.

Diarra looks a top young talent

This is an exciting update because Diarra looks like a really promising young player.

He is still only 19, but Diarra has already caught the eye regularly over in France. His amazing goal at the end of last season against ESTAC Troyes was a real indicator of the quality he already has.

£21 million would be quite a hefty sum to invest in an unproven player.

But Wolves seem convinced by him, and hopefully he would be able to come in and hit the ground running under Gary O’Neil.
