The January transfer window is officially open, and Wolves are already getting to work in the market.
Vitor Pereira has had a record-breaking start to life at Wolves since taking the reins from Gary O’Neil.
Unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches, the Old Gold have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
The January transfer window could be decisive to Pereira’s squad’s chances of survival this season, with Wolves already making key decisions.

Wolves have transfer plan for returning loanees Nathan Fraser and Chem Campbell
While incomings are expected in the form of new faces, as Wolves are eyeing centre-back Kevin Danso, some familiar figures will also arrive at Molineux in January.
That is because loanees Chem Campbell and Nathan Fraser will return to their parent club from loans at Reading and Zulte Waregem respectively.
While Campbell returns at the expiration of his half-season loan in League One, Fraser has been called back.
Wolves recalled Fraser from his loan due to the lack of game time the striker was getting in the Belgium second tier.
Fraser played limited minutes at Zulte Waregem, which sees him return to Molineux; although, he’s not expected to remain in the West Midlands for very long.
According to Sky Sports, both Fraser and Campbell will look to embark on fresh loan spells, with the report stating that the duo ‘should expect to find new loan clubs’ this winter.
Where the two players will go next remains unclear however, their immediate future is highly unlikely to be at Molineux.
How many clubs can a player represent in one season?
Wolves have nine talented players on loan, some thriving and some not so much, with Fraser in particular in desperate need of change.
While sending a player on loan for the season is common, what’s seen less is players representing two clubs over the course of a campaign.
Player | Apps | Goals | Assists |
Chem Campbell | 21 | 5 | 4 |
Nathan Fraser | 5 | 0 | 0 |
For Fraser and Campbell, it’s likely that the duo will end the 2024/25 calendar having represented two clubs, but what are the rules surrounding the matter?
The FA state that players can be registered to a maximum of three clubs in a season however, the individual can only play in official matches for two.
Wolves have seen players embark on two loans in a single season many times, with Campbell and Fraser set to be the next in line.
