Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly in talks with Angers regarding the permanent transfer of Rayan Ait-Nouri.
The club have an option to buy clause on the defender, thought to be worth about £20 million.
The Telegraph report that Wolves are in negotiations with the French side.
One wonders if that could mean the club are trying to sign the teenager for less.
The Express & Star reported a few months ago that there was potential for Wolves to speak with their loan players’ parent clubs to try and negotiate cut-price deals.
Ait-Nouri ended up making 27 appearances across all competitions for Wolves in 2020/21.
He finished the season as a regular in the side, with Jonny Castro Otto sadly sustaining another serious knee injury back in April.
Most fans have been fairly impressed with what they’ve seen from the Frenchman.
Ait-Nouri warrants transfer
This news should be welcomed by supporters.
Hopefully, officials can be shrewd and perhaps get him for less than that supposed £20 million clause.
But even if that’s not possible, Ait-Nouri probably is worth a £20 million outlay.
It is clear he has fantastic potential.
When he brings the defensive side of his game up to scatch, he could become a serious full-back.
