The transfer window always throws up surprises, and the following reports is definitely not something any Wolves fan will have seen coming.
Wolves are set to complete the signing of Nasser Djiga, who is currently flying to England.
Wolves have also agreed a deal with Reims for the transfer of midfielder Marshall Munetsi.
Both players are now expected to sign – but it seems Wolves are not going to stop at those two players.
It has now just been claimed that Wolves are in talks with another Premier League club about a swap deal, that could see a former Molineux favourite make a sensational return.

Wolves in talks with Leicester over shock Craig Dawson and Conor Coady swap deal

It has been reported this afternoon by John Percy of the Telegraph that Wolves are now in talks with Leicester City about doing a swap deal involving Craig Dawson and Conor Coady.
He wrote on X: “Excl: #Wolves and #lcfc in talks over surprise swap deal including Conor Coady and Craig Dawson.
“Nothing agreed yet and discussions in early stages, but straight swap would see Coady move back to Wolves and Dawson join Leicester. Talks continuing.”
Coady left Wolves in 2023, having not been a part of Julen Lopetegui’s plans, before the Spaniard then walked out days before the start of the season.
Coady had spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Everton, having not been in the plans of Bruno Lage, who had changed the formation to a back four.
Bringing Coady back could be genius move by Wolves
This is a claim that has certainly come out of the blue, and it would be one of the top deadline stories if it comes to fruition.
Coady left Wolves with many feeling that it was his time to go.
Wolves had moved to a back four, and wasn’t in the manager’s plans.
But Lopetegui then left, and Gary O’Neil came in. Had that managerial change happened sooner, it would have been interesting to see if Coady would still have left.
Conor Coady for Wolves (2015-2023) |
Appearances – 317 |
Goals – 7 |
Assists – 7 |
But this could potentially be a genius move by Wolves.
Ultimately, former Molineux skipper Coady knows Wolves like the back of his hand and as fans well know, he is an unbelievable leader.
He would surely not come to play regularly, but given the predicament Wolves find themselves in, him returning could provide everyone with a huge lift, and his presence in the dressing room could be invaluable.
That dressing room has had issues this season in terms of lacking discipline, and Coady would not stand for nonsense and uphold standards.
