Wolves are always on the lookout for young talents who could potential become big money-makers in the future.
For a long time now, the model at Wolves has been to scout unpolished gems, develop them and turn them into household names.
The club have had some impressive success stories with the likes of Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Pedro Neto, all of whom sold for big money after being picked up for relatively little.
In more recent times, Wolves have landed exciting talents like Rayan Ait-Nouri and Joao Gomes, with both sure to net the club huge transfer fees at some point in the future.
It was reported last year that Wolves did want to sign more players like Gomes.
Wolves now appear to be tracking another young talent, but could face strong competition from other Premier League clubs.
Wolves keeping tabs on Algerian starlet Ibrahim Maza

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, a number of Premier League clubs are attentive to the development of Ibrahim Maza, who is one of the rising stars in the 2. Bundesliga.
He plays for Hertha Berlin, and is already being topped to move on to a bigger club.
It’s stated by Plettenberg that Maza is likely to move on if Hertha fail to achieve promotion next year. Currently, the club are languishing down in 11th.
Attacking midfielder Maza is said to have interest from Wolves and Southampton, with both clubs ‘regularly on-site’. Brentford, Fulham, Leicester City, Newcastle United, and West Ham United are all interested too.
Plettenberg adds that Maza could cost in the region of €10-20 million (£8.3-16.7 million).
Maza made his professional debut with Hertha back in March 2023 in a game against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. To date, he’s clocked up 29 first-team appearances, and scored six goals. He’s also laid on four assists.
Six of those 10 goal contributions have come this season, which explains the heavy interest in the youngster.
Ibrahim Maza is ‘technically gifted’
It sounds like there could well be a real battle to sign Maza next year, with Hertha looking unlikely to gain promotion back to the top-flight.
Maza – who was born in Berlin but represents Algeria at international level – is clearly a very bright young prospect and Wolves’ interest is understandable.
Algeria’s head coach Vladimir Petkovic really rates the starlet, describing him last month as ‘talented and technically gifted player with a high footballing IQ, despite his youth’ (via FIFA).
Interestingly, it’s stated in the feature article from FIFA that Algerian fans have very high hopes for Maza. They have bestowed him the title ‘Mazouzi’ which means ‘the golden boy’ in Arabic.
It remains to be seen if Wolves can beat off the competition for Maza. But the club already have one technically gifted Algerian in their ranks in Rayan Ait-Nouri, so perhaps Maza may fancy a link-up.
