Wolves identify new Jorgen Strand Larsen replacement as £5m is floated for January deal

The January transfer window is set to open in just a few days, and Wolves desperately need signings.

The Old Gold are reportedly in the market for plenty of positions, but whether all of those issues are resolved in the winter or summer remains to be seen.

While incomings are sure to be the main priority, space may also need to be freed up in the squad, and two senior Wolves players are on the chopping block.

However, with the Wanderers likely to be relegated, players within their squad could look to move elsewhere or they could be sold to protect their value, with one of those potentially being Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The Norwegian has struggled to impress this season, and Wolves have now identified a possible replacement.

Wolves’ search for a centre forward has seemingly kept them on the island of Great Britain, as a new target has emerged.

The future of Jorgen Strand Larsen is up in the air, with numerous Premier League clubs interested in the Norwegian.

The Old Gold have been linked with MLS’s Sam Surridge, but now Scottish side Hibernian’s striker Kieron Bowie has been mentioned as a possible signing.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, ‘Wolves are checking on Bowie as a long-term replacement for Jorgen Strand Larsen.’

Do the links to Kieron Bowie fill you with much hope for Wolves’ January plans?

On paper, it does not seem to be the most ambitious move…😟

The report by Nixon reveals that the Edinburgh-based club would want around £5 million, and he is viewed as an excellent option to steer the Wanderers out of the Championship next season.

Additionally, the journalist states that Wolves may cash in on Strand Larsen this month and want somebody to come in and fill those boots.

Kieron Bowie is a 23-year-old centre-forward who has been at Hibernian since 2024.

Bowie began his career at Scottish club Raith Rovers before joining Fulham in 2020. He spent four years at the Cottagers, which included a two-year loan spell at Northampton Town.

The Scotsman never played a professional match for Fulham’s first team.

This season, the Hibs target man, who is 6’3″, has netted seven goals and got three assists across 25 appearances in all competitions.

Most recently, he scored in the Edinburgh derby, as Hibernian defeated Hearts 3-2.

Bowie is a versatile player and has played across multiple positions in the front line, including on both wings, but he primarily plays as a striker.
