Wolves are still in the market to find a replacement for Nelson Semedo – and have eyes on a player who just became a free agent.
A lot of fans are baffled over how the situation with Nelson Semedo has been handled.
He is now a free agent, and has been for almost one month.
Despite this, Wolves have not officially announced the player’s departure from the club.
It has been known that Wolves put a four-year contract on the table for Semedo.
But the player has not signed, and recently Vitor Pereira suggested Wolves were looking at replacements for Semedo.
It was thought Wolves would sign Marc Pubill, but that move was hijacked by Atletico Madrid at the eleventh hour.
But now, Wolves are apparently in for a vastly experienced player who just became a free agent like Semedo.
Wolves showing interest in Vladimir Coufal and have held initial talks

According to Ben Jacobs, Wolves could potentially now replace Semedo with Vladimir Coufal, who has just left West Ham United after the expiration of his contract.
Coufal joined West Ham in 2020 from Sparta Prague, and made 180 appearances for the club, and has turned out 147 times in the Premier League.
Ben Jacobs reported on X last night: “Wolves have shown an interest in former West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal as a potential option to fill the gap left by Nelson Semedo. Initial talks only for now”
Journalist Alex Crook also wrote: “Understand #Wolves are showing interest in free agent former #WHUFC defender Vladimir Coufal. A potential option to fill the gap left by Nelson Semedo.”
Wolves were first linked with Coufal around a month ago, and fans really slammed the speculation.
Wolves risk fan backlash by signing Coufal
If Wolves bring in Coufal to replace Semedo, most fans are going to be extremely unhappy. And understandably so.
Coufal is a player who has served West Ham well, but the reality is that he is way past his prime. He is turning 33 next month, and there is a reason the Hammers were happy to let him go.
To go from Semedo to Coufal would be a major downgrade.

Fans will simply not accept turning to an almost 33-year-old free agent, after the club missed out on Pubill.
Wolves have had plenty of time to get someone who is in their prime and do not have to settle for what just looks like an easy option.
If the plan really is to land Coufal, then he surely cannot be a regular starter, with Ki-Jana Hoever deserving of a chance to play for Wolves.
