A Ruben Neves return to the Premier League sounds good, but for Wolves fans it’ll be incredibly strange seeing him in another shirt.
Wolves signed Ruben Neves for what was a Championship record fee of £15 million back in 2017.
He appeared 253 times for the Old Gold, which involved 30 goals and 13 assists. But that doesn’t tell the full story, as his range of passing was like nothing ever seen at Molineux, and he loved a thirty-yarder.
Jose Mourinho was one of many who noticed the sheer quality that Ruben Neves possessed, stating that there aren’t many players like him. And he’s absolutely right.
Wolves really miss the Neves type of player who can create a goal out of nothing and link defence to attack with ease, as Joao Gomes and Andre lack the creativity in the final third.
Ruben Neves move to Manchester United is ‘still on’
Ruben Neves has been playing his football over in Saudi Arabia, but as is often the case, players end up missing the competitiveness of the English game.
According to journalist Mark Brus, a deal for Ruben Neves to join Manchester United is ‘still on’ and he is open to a return to the top-flight.
Whilst Newcastle United and Tottenham are also monitoring his situation.
There have been contacts between the three Premier League clubs and Neves’ representatives, but it’s not progressing, with a stumbling block being the fact that he earns £ 410,000 a week.

Ruben Neves has a big decision to make
Matheus Cunha’s move to Manchester United hasn’t quite gone to plan so far, with just one goal to his name after the hefty £62.5 million fee.
However, there is high hopes for him after the quality he showed at Wolves, and Tim Sherwood has even tipped Cunha to be the next Eric Cantona.
But, as is often the case, a player who shines at a lower-ranked club doesn’t always perform as well when they have so-called better players around them.
It remains to be seen whether he will make a return to Premier League football, as there were rumours a month ago that Neves was signing a two-year extension at Al Hilal.
Especially now he’s a starter for Portugal and has over 100 appearances for the Saudi club.
