Wolves have bid for colossal Serie A star rejected on transfer deadline day after Vitor Pereira approach

An underwhelming transfer window for Wolves is set for a frantic end as Vitor Pereira hopes to confirm two new additions.

Vitor Pereira wanted three more signings after the capture of Emmanuel Agbadou, seeing a defender, a midfielder and an attacker as the priority.

Wolves could tick off two of those positions on deadline day as Marshall Munetsi and Nasser Djiga undergo their medicals in Paris.

A £10m fee has been agreed for Djiga, who is set to join from Champions League side Red Star Belgrade, while Munetsi is set for a £16.6m transfer from Reims.

The duo will bolster defence and midfield for Pereira should they sign. Interestingly, though, Wolves have seen a bid rejected for a third potential signing on transfer deadline day.

Udinese reject Wolves £12.5m bid for Thomas Kristensen

Molineux News exclusively revealed on Thursday that Wolves were interested in Thomas Kristensen, the colossal 6ft6 defender currently playing for Udinese.

Kristensen emerged as an option in case Kevin Danso didn’t sign, with the Austrian choosing Tottenham over Wolves after making a dramatic U-turn.

Now, the Daily Mail have reported that Pereira launched a £12.5 million bid for the towering Dane on deadline day, though the Serie A side instantly rejected it.

With the first offer rebuffed, the report adds that a second offer is unlikely, meaning Kristensen is set to remain at Udinese after attracting several Premier League clubs

This comes after Wolves wanted to re-sign Conor Coady from Leicester City in a last-minute deal, although Leicester didn’t want the 31-year-old to leave.

Wolves stance on signing more players on deadline day

Wolves fans won’t believe they’ve made further additions till players are officially announced after Tottenham hijacked the Danso deal, despite his medical at Molineux being booked in.

But it appears that, barring any late hiccups, Djiga and Munetsi will be unveiled as new signings tonight, with time ticking to complete the transfers.

As ever, supporters will also be wondering whether the club will complete some late business after seeing the bid for Kristensen rebuffed.

According to journalist Liam Keen, the answer to that is no, with Wolves expecting no more signings on deadline day once Munetsi and Djiga are announced.

It caps off a frustrating window as a whole, seeing Pereira lose out on key targets, though at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel, as long as either of the transfers don’t collapse.
