Wolves have a ‘keen eye’ on transfer target who already has 48 G/A for a Premier League giant

Wolves have been credited with interest in one former Premier League star ahead of the summer transfer window.

Vitor Pereira will be eager to bolster his Wolves squad ahead of his first full season in England.

Wolves fans are desperate to see Fosun support Pereira in the summer, given the extent to which the manager has turned the 2024/25 calendar around.

Wolves have already been linked to several transfer targets, with an early theme spotted, as the Old Gold look to exploit the South American market.

While Brazilian talent is capturing Pereira’s eye, a fresh report has drawn attention to Wolves’ interest in a former Premier League forward.

Wolves hold transfer interest in Nicolas Pepe

The player in question is Nicolas Pepe, who won silverware at Arsenal during his four-year association with the North Londoners.

Footmercato have reported that Wolves are one of the clubs ‘keeping a keen eye’ on Pepe, whose contract at Villarreal expires in 2026.

While it’s understood that the Spanish side wish to extend the winger’s contract, Everton and Wolves are eyeing a possible transfer opportunity amid the 29-year-old’s building form in La Liga.

A strong end to the season for Pepe could see transfer interest around the Ivorian build, alongside Villarreal’s desire to keep the former Gunner on their side.

Arsenal paid a record fee of £72m to sign Pepe from LOSC Lille in 2019, but Wolves wouldn’t need to pay anywhere near such price, as the forward’s current value sits at £5.1m, as per Transfermarkt

Pepe’s underrated record at Arsenal

For some fans, links to Pepe could be regarded as underwhelming as the Ivory Coast international left Arsenal with the label of a ‘flop’.

When delving into what Pepe actually did during his time in the Arsenal squad, opinion could be swayed.

In 112 appearances for the Gunners, the winger contributed to 48 goals, scoring 27 times and assisting 21 in all competitions.

Though those at the Emirates might have expected more for his eye-watering price tag, Pepe’s record in the Premier League was also not too shabby, recording back-to-back seasons with 11 goal contributions.

The 2020/21 campaign saw Pepe hit double figures for goals in the Premier League, scoring ten times.

It would be a fascinating transfer to see happen in the West Midlands, as the winger continues to prove his worth in Spain with Villarreal.
