Wolves handed boost with £13m target’s move to transfer rival now ‘likely to fall apart’

Wolves have received a potential boost in the transfer window, with one target’s move to another club now set to fall through.

Wolves fans are imploring the club to get new faces through the door with pre-season having already commenced.

Fer Lopez has signed and Jhon Arias will complete his move after Fluminense confirmed his transfer.

But Wolves could do with at least three more signings, having lost a number of key players already in the window.

Wolves have lost Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo has become a free agent and is all but certain to announce his exit officially.

Losing Semedo is far from ideal for Wolves, but one man the club may turn to as his replacement is Marc Pubill, with an intriguing claim being made about the player today.

Wolves were linked with a £13 million move for Pubill a couple of weeks ago amid the continued uncertainty over Semedo.

But the whole time, there have been mentions of interest from AC Milan in Pubill.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Pubill has been waiting for Milan to strike an agreement with Almeria, but that Wolves were also still in the picture.

But now, Corriere dello Sport have made a very intriguing claim.

They say that Pubill to Milan is now ‘likely to fall apart at the last minute’.

It is stated that Milan and Almeria were close to an agreement for the player to transfer for around £8.5 million plus bonuses.

But the Rossoneri are cooling their interest, although it is not suggested by the outlet why that is exactly.

It is an update that could now put Wolves on red alert – unless Wolves are actually the reason why Milan are stepping back from Pubill.

Wolves must act fast to sign Pubill

So Pubill signing for Milan now looks to be off the cards, with the door potentially swinging wide open for Wolves.

Wolves have got to move quickly if he is the player they want to sign.

It looks as though there is now no chance of Semedo signing that new contract after what Pereira said, so it is vital to get a replacement in as quickly as possible.

Wolves do need to determine if Pubill is 100% set on making a move to Molineux.

Seemingly he was nearing a move to Milan, so Wolves need to make sure that the player’s heart would definitely be in it.
