Wolves are desperate to offload Fabio Silva this summer and the Portuguese forward has just been linked with a move to a European giant.
Fabio Silva is turning out to be one of, if not, the biggest transfer blunder of the Fosun era at Wolves.
Captured for £35 million from Porto in the summer of 2020 as an 18-year-old, Silva was a highly-rated young striker who was compared to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo as a teenager.
How Wolves supporters wish he had the goalscoring prowess of the Portuguese superstar, with the 21-year-old netting just five goals in 72 appearances for the Old Gold.
Silva recently endured a loan spell at Scottish giants Rangers, where he was often blasted for his ‘non-existent’ displays and theatrics rather than praised for his footballing ability.
Scoring just twice in 13 appearances in the league, the Gers made their stance clear that they didn’t want him permanently and neither do Wolves, who are desperate to offload him this summer.
The Portugal under-21 international has recently said he never wanted to stay at Wolves and wants to leave. It appears best for both parties that he is moved on and he’s somehow not short of interest.

Sevilla are interested in Wolves flop Fabio Silva
According to Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla could revive their interest in Silva once striker Youssef En-Nesyri leaves the club.
The report claims Silva is seen as a player who fits perfectly into Victor Orta’s transfer strategy as he’s young, could be signed on loan and the sporting director knows him ‘perfectly’.
Orta was keen on luring the Portuguese striker to the Spanish giants in January, though he missed out to Rangers and instead signed Alejo Veliz from Tottenham.
With Silva also revealing he’d like to play in Spain, O’Neil should look to strike a swap deal with Sevilla for En-Nesyri, who could be available for as low as €15m (£13m) this summer.
En-Nesyri swap deal for Fabio Silva would be a masterstroke
Fosun has angered Wolves supporters by raising season ticket prices ahead of the 2024/25 campaign but he would receive praise if he was to swap Silva for En-Nesyri.
We’ve said a deal for the Moroccan international would make perfect sense and including Silva in the negotiations gives O’Neil all the more reason to sign the 27-year-old.
It would kill two birds with one stone; offloading their flop, albeit on loan, while signing a clinical striker to lead their line next season.
En-Nesyri was a rare shining light for the Spanish side last term as he showcased his appetite for scoring goals, plundering 20 in all competitions, as per Transfermarkt.
The 71-cap Moroccan international could be the missing piece to O’Neil’s puzzle due to his efficiency in front of goal, boasting a better conversion rate (20%) than Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski while outscoring Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
For a mooted price of £13 million, Fosun could land one of Europe’s most potent strikers, all while offloading a player they desperately need to get off the books.
