Although the January transfer window has yet to really get going, Wolves have been one of the busiest teams.
Wolves has already signed Emmanuel Agbadou. The Ivorian defender recently arrived at Molineux on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Stade Reims.
The African defender is unlikely to be the Old Gold’s only major signing this month though and several players have also been linked with moving the other way.
Mario Lemina has been linked with a transfer to Al Shabab since the beginning of the window while another midfielder has recently emerged as a target for a European side.

How Wolves feel about Pablo Sarabia negotiating Molineux exit
Wolves can’t do much to stop Pablo Sarabia negotiating with clubs outside of England due to his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Celta Vigo are interested in signing Sarabia and have been discussing a possible transfer with the 32-year-old.
And while it is likely the Spaniard will move on a free transfer in the summer, even if Wolves receive an offer this month, it is unlikely Sarabia will be allowed to move due to Wolves’ lack of options.
“They do like Sarabia as a player but I do wonder if or when Mario Lemina goes, will they let him go as well? a close source told Molineux News.
“I know they’re different players but Wolves don’t have the biggest squad in the world.”
An interesting insight into the club’s mid-season transfer plans as they ready themselves for an important second-half of the campaign.
Sarabia set for Wolves stay due to limited options
As things stand, Wolves’ first-team has nine midfielders, however, should Lemina complete a potential move to Saudi Arabia and Sarabia return to Spain, Vitor Pereira would be left short of options.
Here are the players Pereira could have at his disposable by the end of the window if Wolves do not make additional signings.
Player | Position | Age | Contract Expiry |
Andre | Defensive mid | 23 | June, 2029 |
Boubacar Traore | Defensive mid | 23 | June, 2027 |
Joao Gomes | Central mid | 23 | June, 2028 |
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde | Central mid | 26 | June, 2028 |
Tommy Doyle | Central mid | 23 | June, 2028 |
Luke Cundle | Central mid | 22 | June, 2026 |
Tawanda Chirewa | Attacking mid | 21 | June, 2027 |
Given his potential lack of options, it is understandable why the Wolves manager is pushing for the club to make further signings.
And although another centre-back remains top priority, bringing a new midfielder to Wolves is also on the club’s agenda.
Wolves had been linked with Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff, although whisperings of a deal for the Englishman have gone quiet in recent weeks.
