Wolves fans will love what Nasser Djiga did ahead of proposed deadline-day transfer to Molineux

The January transfer window has erupted to life at Molineux as Wolves look to welcome several deadline day arrivals.

After signing Emmanuel Agbadou, Vitor Pereira suffered two bitter rejections in the bid to bolster his Wolves squad

Manu Silva joined Benfica over the Old Gold and then, Kevin Danso’s Wolves transfer was hijacked by Tottenham in a second January market blow.

Fortunately, deadline day has seen a stark change at Wolves, with the Premier League side closing in on the capture of Nasser Djiga.

Nasser Djiga rejected European football to join Wolves

Wolves have agreed a deal for Djiga in the region of £10m, striking an agreement with Red Star Belgrade.

The defender is expected to tie up his transfer to the Premier League before Monday night’s deadline, with the player already in transit.

Fabrizio Romano shared a picture of Djiga on a flight to England ahead of his transfer to Wolves, with Pereira finally getting the green light to add to his squad.

It’s understood that a sell-on clause has been included in Djiga’s transfer, with Red Star agreeing a 10% sell-on fee for their defender, who only joined the Serbian club permanently in the summer.

More details are emerging regarding the deadline day move as Wolves edge closer to wrapping up the deal, with journalist Liam Keen sharing more information.

The Express and Star reporter shared that Djiga actually rejected Galatasaray to join Wolves, turning down Europa League football in favour of signing for the Old Gold.

Keen stated that Djiga only ‘wants Wolves’, which will come as music to supporters’ ears after the rejection the club have suffered this window.

Wolves needed a deadline day boost like Djiga

The January transfer window has been pretty brutal for Wolves, with two perfect targets identified and both opting to join other clubs.

A deal for Silva was at the closing stages before Benfica swooped in to sign the midfielder, which was a similar story for Danso.

Spurs hijacked Danso’s transfer to Wolves at the final moment but fortunately, Pereira has located a top centre-back who wants to represent the Old Gold.

Now that Djiga is on the plane and has rejected another offer on deadline day, fans can relax for a moment as the defender looks to be Molineux-bound.
