Wolves fans are feeling more optimistic now, after seeing the team record a brilliant 4-1 victory over Fulham at the weekend.
Gary O’Neil was a man under big pressure heading into the recent game with Southampton.
His job was potentially on the line, but he managed to pick up three points – although it wasn’t a particularly convincing performance.
But against Fulham, Wolves were much better – especially in the second-half.
Despite missing Santiago Bueno and Craig Dawson, Wolves put in one of the performances of the season so far to move out of the relegation zone.
Key to both of these victories was the form of Matheus Cunha – and journalist Ben Jacobs has now made a claim about the Brazilian that many fans will welcome.
Wolves have ‘no plans’ to sell Matheus Cunha in January

People are now talking about Cunha following his exploits against Fulham on Saturday.
There’s a general acceptance that he is now in the form of his life, and Alan Shearer claimed Cunha’s been one of the players of the season so far.
Liam Keen reported recently that top clubs are looking at Cunha and have been doing so for around 12 months.
But Ben Jacobs claims that Wolves are not about to go selling their talisman in the next transfer window. There is also a suggestion about next summer.
He wrote on X: “Wolves have no plans to sell Matheus Cunha mid-season. Cunha was signed for £44m and has only been at the club since January 2023.
“Any summer suitors would have to significantly top this number for Wolves to even consider a sale.”
Wolves must keep Cunha at all costs
It’s now 10 goals and assists so far this season for Cunha and he’s arguably playing some of the very best football of his career, which is just huge for Wolves.
We keep seeing him step up when Wolves need him most, and he’s undeniably the new talisman of the team.

Cunha is Wolves’ best player, and the club simply cannot lose him in January.
Thankfully, it seems the club fully recognise how important the £60,000-a-week star is and aren’t planning to sell for big money.
Ideally, Wolves would actually agree a new contract with Cunha soon. With interest in the player mounting, it would be such a massive boost if he did agree fresh terms.
