Wolves need to start getting busy – and fans have urged Vitor Pereira to consider signing a player who has just become a free agent.
Wolves have only brought in Fer Lopez so far, but pre-season is now only a few weeks away.
Last summer, Wolves had signed three players in time for pre-season – Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen – and the hope is that new faces will arrive very soon.
Strand Larsen ended up enjoying a great first season at Wolves.
But he will need some cover and competition for 2025/26, with Matheus Cunha having departed for Manchester United, and potentially Goncalo Guedes and/or Hwang Hee-chan to leave as well.
Wolves were loosely linked with Dominic Calvert-Lewin earlier this year (via Caught Offside), as his contract was winding down.
Yesterday, Calvert-Lewin confirmed he’s leaving Everton, and there will likely now be a scramble to sign him given his experience of playing in the Premier League.
Wolves fans urge Vitor Pereira not to be tempted by Dominic Calvert-Lewin after Everton exit

Calvert-Lewin is now officially a free agent, having left Everton after nine years.
The star scored 71 goals in 273 appearances for the club, with 57 of those coming in the Premier League.
The club are after a striker, with Fabio Silva and Sasa Kalajdzic both likely to leave Wolves.
And for some on social media, Pereira should not be tempted to make a move for Calvert-Lewin, despite his status as a free agent, with some pointing to his poor injury record as a major reason.
@_jstewart29: “Definitely a no, way too injury prone for big wage.”
@andyroden: “For 5 games a season??? No chance…”
@ColinPep1: “How do you rotate someone who is never fit? He’s not worth the salary or signing on fee.”
@wwfcConnor: “I’d rather keep Sasa.”
@Peterpecker11: “No no no.”
Calvert-Lewin is not worth the risk for Wolves
It would be a major surprise if Wolves try to sign Calvert-Lewin after his exit from Everton.
Yes, he has proven he can score goals at Premier League level.
But his rate has not been particularly good in recent times – he has just 17 in the Premier League in the last four seasons.
And then there is the injury record, which is very well documented.
Calvert-Lewin has missed 111 games for club and country in his career to date, and is unfortunately unreliable.
Given Calvert-Lewin would likely want high wages, it just doesn’t seem worth the risk for Wolves to offer him a lucrative contract knowing he may not play regularly as an injury-prone player.
