Daniel Podence is no longer a Wolves player.
The winger has officially sealed a move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab, after much speculation about his future this summer.
Podence spent last season out on loan with his former club Olympiacos, and really impressed. They wanted to sign him permanently.
But seemingly, they could not match the offer presented by Al-Shabab, with sporting director Matt Hobbs revealing that it was ‘life-changing’ for the player.
Podence is a player who has divided opinion at Molineux over the years.
The 28-year-old signed from Olympiacos in January 2020 for a reported £17 million and ended up making 108 appearances for the club.
While he had the potential to really frustrate by overplaying and throwing in unnecessary tricks, Podence undoubtedly impressed for the Old Gold, and also chipped in with some important goals.
He could be theatrical, which could wind people up. But Podence could also provide moments of magic and could easily get supporters out of their chairs in an instant.
He has now left the club after four-and-a-half years, and fans have been given their reactions to the news this morning on social media.
Wolves fans react as Daniel Podence leaves to join Al-Shabab

Perhaps inevitably, Podence’s exit from Wolves has prompted a mixed reaction.
There are plenty of people today who don’t mind him going. Ultimately, Podence was not involved for Wolves last season and Gary O’Neil‘s side managed well without him.
He may have been shining over in Greece. But Wolves had the likes of Hwang Hee-chan and Pedro Neto back at Molineux, with both players enjoying great seasons.
Some Wolves fans could never really warm to Podence for his lack of consistency at times. His theatrics also made it hard for some.
But for all his critics, Podence did make some big contributions for Wolves, and there are some who are sad about his exit today.

Podence certainly had a rollercoaster time at Wolves and he likely won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
There is no doubt about it; Podence could be absolutely magnificent on his day, as some said on social media. But he could also turn in terrible performances.
Some found him difficult to warm to over the years, with his tendency to overdo things often a source of frustration.
But he could be a genius as well. Ultimately football is entertainment, and fans paying their hard-earned cash were rarely left short-changed when watching Podence.
