Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have been reacting to a surprise report involving goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported yesterday that he could become the subject of interest from AS Roma this summer.

The Serie A club announced earlier this week that Jose Mourinho is to become their new manager ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The Special One was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last month, but already has his next project lined up.

Lots of players who have worked with Mourinho in the past are already being linked with Roma, but according to Gazzetta, Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio might be someone they target.

Patricio, 33, is a client of the super-agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Mourinho.

Supposedly he would be an option, although he isn’t the main target.

Patricio will be heading into the final year of his contract at Molineux this summer according to Transfermarkt.

There has been no talk about Wolves looking to cash in on the veteran stopper before this report, nor has there been any mention of a possible extension of his contract.

On social media, fans generally seem pretty sure they don’t want to see the club’s number one leave this summer, despite not having the best of seasons:
