Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have been reacting to a report that has claimed Bruno Lage is being considered as a possible replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo.
According to Jornal de Noticias, the club are eyeing the 44-year-old, who is currently out of work after leaving Benfica last year.
It’s claimed that Wolves would potentially move for Lage if Nuno departed the club this summer.
The 47-year-old has recently been linked with Tottenham Hotspur (Express), with Jose Mourinho under pressure in north London.
Lage won a league title and Super Cup with Benfica, and left with a win ration of 67%.
The Portuguese tactician – another client of super-agent Jorge Mendes – has been in the English game before, holding assistant manager positions at Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City.
The idea of Lage being on Wolves’ radar seems a bit of a reach.
Nuno may have cut a forlorn figure at times this season, but the way he’s spoken suggests he’s committed to the long-term at Molineux.
And now with the European Super League news, all links involving people potentially going to ‘Big Six’ clubs – like Nuno to Spurs – are questionable.
That said, on social media, Wolves fans have been reacting to the idea of Lage taking the reigns at Molineux:
I’d prefer Gattuso but let’s just focus on getting W result today going to be a hard game I can tell even tho if we beat them they get relegated COYW

Definitely a more progressive and entertaining coach than Nuno, but there’s no way he’s an upgrade

No better than Nuno but I called this back in February and with Mendes links makes sense probably all lined up

Would be a great option, great coach specially at young development, shouldn’t ever been fired from Benfica and just needs a chance at a good club https://t.co/vEEA8lTiDG
