Wolves fans react as report makes Dion Sanderson recall claim

Some Wolves fans have been reacting to a claim that Dion Sanderson could be set for a recall in January.

The 21-year-old is currently enjoying a season-long loan spell at Birmingham City.

Sanderson started the 2021/22 campaign with a back injury, but has quickly established himself as a regular at St. Andrew’s.

The star has made 12 appearances so far for the club.

He has been very consistent, and Blues fans have often showered praise on him on social media.

The Athletic have claimed Sanderson is now being considered for a recall by Wolves in January.

Wolves will lose Romain Saiss to AFCON and potentially Willy Boly too if he recovers from his latest injury in time.

Bruno Lage is lacking cover, and so Sanderson heading back to Molineux may not be out of the question.

The claim comes after Birmingham manager Lee Bowyer recently said he wasn’t concerned about Sanderson being recalled.

He said (via Birmingham Mail): “I don’t see why Wolves would call him back when he is settled here, playing, doing well, improving. I think it’s a good challenge for him to be at this club.”

Others are a little wary it might not be the best thing, given how well he is doing right now.

Wolves, of course, recalled Morgan Gibbs-White mid-season in 2020/21, and the midfielder didn’t end up playing much.
