Wolves have been linked with a move for Portugal midfielder Renato Sanches.
According to Calciomercato, the 23-year-old has ‘entered the crosshairs’ of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Sanches is currently plying his trade with Lille after a turbulent past few years.
The ace was once viewed as one of Europe’s most promising players period, but flopped at Bayern Munich following his £27.5 million move (BBC Sport) from Benfica.
He then went on loan to Swansea City for the 2017/18 season but struggled to adapt to the Premier League.
Sanches has been with Lille since the summer of 2019, and has made 40 appearances, scoring five goals and making one assist.
Perhaps this is a link that shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Sanches is yet another client of the Gestifute agency which is headed by super-agent Jorge Mendes – an individual who has brokered lots of deals for the club in recent years.
Sanches is very much still in the phase of rebuilding his reputation.
Few have forgotten his stint at Swansea, but quite a few Wolves fans on social media threw their backing behind a potential future swoop for the star:
