Some Wolves fans have been reacting to a report that the club have interest in Rafael Leao, and made an attempt to sign him during the last transfer window.

Italian publication Calciomercato has claimed Wolves targeted the livewire after Diogo Jota was sold to Liverpool.

The situation was a non-starter for AC Milan at the time though, and they were not about to entertain any interest in their young talent despite a tricky first season at the club.

Leao, 21, joined the Rossoneri last year, and finished 2019/20 with six goals and three assists in all competitions.

There was initially some talk about him leaving, but Milan retained their Portuguese star and are now benefitting immensely.

Leao already has three goals and three assists in all competitions this term and looks like he could be in for a great season having had time to settle.

Nuno Espirito Santo is said to be a big fan of Leao, who is another client of Jorge Mendes, but a move to Molineux seems quite unlikely following his upturn in form.

The idea of Leao rocking up at Molineux is very exciting for some Wolves fans on social media, even if there doesn’t seem to be a huge chance of it happening just at the moment:
