Wanderers looked set to land Sanches on deadline day during the last transfer window.

But the club ultimately decided against the deal, with Sanches injured at the time.

In the end, the Portugal international wasn’t actually out of action for all that long. He returned to the picture at the start of October.

According to Crook, Wolves are looking quite closely again at Sanches, with the winter window opening tomorrow.

It remains to be seen if Wolves table an official bid.

One would imagine other clubs may potentially come to the table.

After all, Sanches is a player who is quite unique in that he’s a fast and technical central midfielder.

He breaks the lines with his powerful running. Currently, Wolves don’t have a player who can do that.

Without a shadow of a doubt he would improve Wolves, but he would also improve a lot of other teams out there.

But if Fosun want to take Wolves to the next level, they will endeavour to facilitate deals such as this.

Predictably, Crook’s update on Wolves and Renato Sanches has gone down very well.

Many fans were gutted that no move happened on deadline day. Lots felt frustrated for getting their hopes up.

Well it seems the club could well make a fresh approach for Sanches.

It is not currently clear what kind of price Lille would be looking for to sell.

Many just hope Fosun are willing to go above and beyond for a player who could make a real impact at Molineux.

Here were some of the comments, including from one or two people who aren’t getting their hopes up this time:
