Wolves fans have been reacting to a report that has claimed the club are interested in Liverpool sriker Divock Origi.

The Athletic have claimed the club retain what is a ‘long-standing’ interest in the 25-year, who is very much on the fringes at Anfield.

Origi has made just seven appearances this season, only two of those coming in the Premier League totalling just seven minutes of time on the pitch.

Liverpool’s front three are not only quality, but very durable and it’s rare any one of Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah or Sadio Mane spend any time out with injury.

That makes opportunities hard to come by for Origi, and he now has extra competition in the former of Takumi Minamino and Diogo Jota.

The Athletic say Liverpool wouldn’t stand in the way if a suitable offer came in for the Belgian – it’s explained £20 million may be enough for the Reds to sell.

Wolves are said not to have had any contact with Liverpool about Origi at this stage.

£50,000-a-week star Origi (Spotrac) could be worth bringing in by Wolves, but a permanent January move should be avoided.

He has hardly played in 2020/21, and so Wolves should perhaps see whether Liverpool would be willing to let him leave on loan – something the report says is a possibility.

He may not yet be a top striker, but Origi has shown he can mix it in the Premier League, and has obviously performed heroics in the Champions League.

If Raul Jimenez is going to be out for a while, he might not be a bad option to bring in on loan.
