Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to sign Hwang Hee-chan from RB Leipzig.
According to The Athletic, the South Korea international is undergoing a medical at the club today.
It follows a loan agreement being struck between the two clubs.
Wolves would then supposedly have a £12 million option to buy the player next year.
Wolves have long been interested in Hwang.
The club were keen on the 25-year-old during his RB Salzburg days, where he formed great connections with the likes of Erling Haaland and Takumi Minamino.
He moved to the Bundesliga last year, and has found life a little tougher.
Hwang has scored three goals and made four assists in 29 outings so far.
So far in 2021/22, Hwang is yet to start for Leipzig, making three substitute appearances.
News of Hwang coming to Molineux comes after Bruno Lage recently confirmed that Pedro Neto has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.
It had been anticipated that he’d be back around October time. But Lage has suggested it could be more like December.
The club have therefore had to move to get cover in, and versatile Hwang is a positive move.
On social media, fans have been giving their reaction to the seemingly imminent announcement of the Hwang signing.
Many are pleased to see the star coming in:

Not a bad signing at all, and of course it’s try before you buy which we love anyway

Great news re Hwang coming & CB probs joining. But amazed that #wwfc now not actively looking for a MF. Arguably the most crucial addition and instrumental to the way Bruno wants to play. Love watching Ruben/Joao dictate but more often that not need a physical MF starting w/Neves

To say I’m excited about the prospect of Hwang Hee-Chan, is an understatement.#wolves#wwfc
