Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have been reacting to reports claiming the club are interested in Carles Alena.
The club are said to be keen on the Spanish midfielder (Sport), who is out of contract in a year’s time.
Alena spent last season on loan at Getafe, and previously had a half-season stint with Real Betis.
He is a player Barca are willing to offload this summer, and Spainsh publication Sport believe the club value Alena at just £6.8 million.
That is a very small figure for a player who was once tipped to become the next big thing at the Nou Camp.
Things haven’t really worked out for him, with the signing of Frenkie de Jong in 2019 seemingly scuppering his chances of becoming a regular.
There is also competition in the form of Sergio Busquets, Miralem Pjanic, Pedri and Riqui Puig.
It remains to be seen if Alena is someone Wolves will go in for, and if he’s someone of interest to new manager Bruno Lage.
Fans have been discussing him on social media, and the general reaction appears to be that this is a deal the club should be all over.
He has struggled a little in recent times, but people think £6.8 million for Alena would represent a great deal:
