Wolves fans make demand as new Hwang Hee-chan transfer claim made ahead of 2025

Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan has not had a good season so far.

Hwang was one of Wolves’ best players last term, scoring 13 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions and shining in a front three alongside Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto.

Hwang was so effective at arriving in the box, and arguably enjoyed the best season of his career to date.

But in 2024/25 so far, it’s been a pretty miserable campaign for Hwang, who’s still yet to open his account. He was also sidelined for around a month after picking up an injury with South Korea during the October international break.

O’Neil talked up Hwang recently as he was asked about the general lack of experience in the Wolves squad, describing him as ‘Premier League calibre’.

But Hwang has unfortunately been nowhere near his best this season, and it’s possible now that his future could be in some doubt.

It’s been reported that several clubs are eyeing a potential move for Hwang in 2025.

This comes after Wolves rejected a transfer bid from Marseille for Hwang in the last window, a decision that some have now questioned.

Liam Keen has also claimed in recent months that Hwang has plenty of clubs that admire him.

Wolves fans react to Hwang rumour

Amid Hwang’s poor form, there aren’t too many people saying that Wolves should be fighting to keep the forward.

Some have chosen to focus on the fact that Wolves rejected that bid from Marseille in the summer.

Other, reckons that the club should indeed be looking to offload Hwang in 2025.

Wolves shouldn’t sell Hwang in January

He’s been poor this season but, unless there’s an offer around that £20 million mark in January, which feels very unlikely given the player’s form, then Wolves should be looking to keep Hwang.

Ultimately, he’s someone who’s proven he can score goals in a Wolves shirt.

Injuries can pick up, especially in the second half of a season, and Wolves don’t want a situation where something happens to Matheus Cunha or Jorgen Strand Larsen and there’s no one in reserve.

There’s a possibility that Goncalo Guedes could leave the club in January. Guedes is reportedly a target for Villarreal, so if he goes then that’s even more reason to keep Hwang.

But let’s say Hwang’s form does not pick up for the rest of the season. Then Wanderers must listen to offers for him in the summer. Hopefully, the club will still have Premier League status by that point.
