It’s been an interesting 24 hours at Wolves, to say the least, with their defeat against Newcastle not dominating the headlines.
Wolves may have lost 3-0 against Newcastle but it was Mario Lemina’s refusal to play in the fixture that raised the most eyebrows, as the midfielder continues to push for a transfer.
On Thursday, it was reported that Al Shabab had made a formal approach for Lemina in their pursuit to sign the 31-year-old while Galatasaray have a long-standing interest in Lemina.
With the Gabon international showing up his manager by not playing on Wednesday night, there is now no way back for the former Juventus man whose contract at Molineux expires in the summer.
Interestingly, he isn’t the only Wolves midfielder who has been linked with a move out of the club, with outcast Luke Cundle also attracting interest.

Millwall, Bristol City and Swansea City want to sign Luke Cundle
In recent weeks, Cundle has been linked with a transfer to Championship clubs, and Liam Keen has now revealed that a permanent move is being explored.
According to Keen, Swansea City, Millwall and Bristol City have all shown interest in the 22-year-old this month and could pounce for his signature.
Cundle is yet to feature under Pereira and hasn’t played a single Premier League minute for the Old Gold this term, resulting in him being linked with a move away.
So, with the Englishman not being a part of Pereira’s plans, it seems likely that the best move for both parties is for him to move on permanently.
However, when this transfer news dropped, Wolves fans had a surprising reaction to it.
Wolves fans want Luke Cundle to stay
Cundle hasn’t made a senior league appearance for Wolves since the 2021/22 campaign, yet the fans want him to stay for one key reason.
Supporters accept there is a huge possibility they could be playing Championship football next term, and they see this as a chance to keep Cundle among the squad.
He’s previously represented Swansea City, Plymouth and Stoke City in the second tier, holding his own as a box-to-box midfielder and he could do a similar job should Wolves suffer relegation, according to many.
“Why sell him to a championship club when he can play for us in the championship next season?” one fan questioned.
“Keep him and Doyle and we’ve got our midfield sorted for the Championship next season,” another responded.
“Why would we sell him? We’ll need him next season,” a third replied.
“Selling Cundle before Hwang. Fosun has lost the plot,” a fifth commented while a sixth said: “100%. A Cundle-Doyle midfield in the Champ would be super fun.”
“We have to keep him. There’s a big chance Fosun doesn’t sign a midfielder,” another worryingly replied.
