Wolves fans have been discussing whether Patrick Cutrone should be given another chance by Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Italian striker is currently on loan at Fiorentina, where he’s been since last January, but is expected to cut his stint short.
The 23-year-old was due to play for the Serie A side until the end of 2020/21, but La Nazione report Cutrone is being targeting by Torino and Napoli.
It comes after a really underwhelming start to the 2020/21 season in which he hasn’t started a game for La Viola.
Following his £16 million move from AC Milan (BBC Sport), Cutrone made 24 appearances for Wolves and scored just three goals.
The form of Raul Jimenez made things tricky for him at Molineux, and he found the transition to English football tough.
Now, Jimenez is nursing a fractured skull and Nuno Espirito Santo only has Fabio Silva at his disposal.
The situation has prompted fans to implore the club to sign a new striker this month, and it remains to be seen if Wolves do any business.
But some have actually been discussing the idea of Cutrone coming back to his parent club and having a potential impact in the absence of Jimenez.
It seems that will be unlikely, although the Express & Star have reported it isn’t out of the question, but some Wolves fans have been making the case on social media:
If its a choice between him and not signing a striker in Jan then definitely bring him back, he never got a chance to play as a lone striker

Not opposed. Think he could do a job in the new system. Let him have a go if we have no other incoming options and then either decide to keep him on come summer or hope he salvaged enough of his value amd move him on.

I think he would certainly be more effective than Fabio Silva at this point in time.

I would give him another go. If anything he did try harder and have more passion than some of the players we have in the squad

I mean we have nothing to lose by trying him. Don’t think he was given a fair chance last time and he atleast gives 100% every game

yeah why not give him a start on Friday… nothing to lose

Absolutely, he is better than what we have and always gave his most. No brainer
