Wolves fans have been reacting to the news that Sam Surridge has been added to their transfer list, and it has them believing one thing about this season.
On Friday afternoon, Surridge was tipped for a potential move to Molineux, following an excellent season in the MLS.
The Englishman scored 25 goals across 37 games, with only Lionel Messi beating him in the race for the Golden Boot.
A centre-forward is certainly on Wolves’ agenda, especially with Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future up in the air.
Will Wolves get £40m for Strand Larsen or is that wishful thinking? 👀
The asking price has been reported amid interest from West Ham…
Despite Rob Edwards not being concerned about the Norwegian’s future in January, if a decent offer came in, it might be hard to turn down after his poor performances this season.
And that is where the arrival of Sam Surridge could come in.
Wolves fans react to Sam Surridge transfer links

With news breaking of Sam Surridge’s link to Wolves, it did not take long for fans to express their opinion on the signing, and the general feeling all points to one thing.
With the Old Gold last in the Premier League, and survival looking like a pipe dream, supporters believe that this is an ideal purchase for a likely stint in the Championship next season.
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their thoughts.
One fan said, “This is the sort of signing I expect to see us linked to/to make. Makes sense to me.”
“Contract up. Championship experience. Cheap. Strikers don’t get good till their mid-20s. He was top of my list, if I’m honest, with homegrown needed. Sensible,” another commented.
A different Wolves supporter said, “See, that’s one that does make sense with the championship looming.”
Would you be happy with the signing of Sam Surridge?
Meanwhile, one fan stated, “It’s evident that Wolves are preparing for Championship football (they should be); this is smart. With JSL likely on the way out, we have Surridge and Tolu as striker options next season. Should be a striker who, with service, should get Wolves at least 10+ goals next season.”
“I’d take him; anyone doubting him or the league needs their head shaking. if we could too, I would sign Evander from Cincinnati,” said a different Wolves fan.
With an Old Gold faithful also saying, “This actually feels relatively smart. I am of the belief that many 9s will mature towards their mid-late 20s, and a confident Surridge could come in and do well in the Championship. Heck, he’d probably bag 4-5 by the end of this season.”
That was followed by a fan who said, “Solid, get him in.”
Finally, one supporter stated, “Would work in Championship… he flopped in PL in the past.”
So the overall feeling from supporters is that the club is starting to build for the Championship, which is a smart move considering Wolves’ current Premier League position.
Future-proofing early, and giving Surridge a run of games in England’s top flight, could be useful down the line.
Especially if Wolves are willing to let two senior players leave in January with the right offer.
Sam Surridge’s prior experience helpful, but should not be judged on it

Sam Surridge has prior experience in England, but his record will not convince many at all.
In 112 appearances across both the Premier League and the Championship, the striker only has 18 goals. This equates to a measly 0.07 goals per appearance.
However, those days were many years ago, and ever since moving to America, he has matured as a player. The quality in the MLS is a lot higher than many would expect.
In the last campaign, his jump of improvement from his days in England was highly noticeable. He ended the season with a minutes-per-goal of 112.
Last season, Jorgen Strand Larsen’s minutes per goal was 201.5.
