Wolves fans are totally split after new transfer update, some have their ‘passports ready’

Wolves’ transfer plan has been revealed as Vitor Pereira prepares to bolster his squad.

After several seasons of mediocrity, Wolves fans will be desperate to see the club break the cycle of poor preparation.

Fosun need to back Pereira in order to give the manager the tools to take the Old Gold to the next level, moving away from a relegation-threatened 2024/25 campaign.

Wolves are set to complete the signing of Jhon Arias, which is a move that fans are overjoyed with, but there’s plenty more work to be done.

As well as Arias, defender Marc Pubill is on course to make Molineux home, and to the joy of supporters, Pereira has a plan to keep the arrivals coming.

Wolves fans react to the latest transfer update

Wolves will prioritise three positions after striking agreements for Arias and Pubill.

It’s understood that the West Midlands club hope to add a left wing-back, a central midfielder and another forward to Pereira’s squad.

The news left some fans excited for the future, but for others, the update felt underwhelming.

With that said, here’s a look at what some Wolves fans have been saying on X in reaction to the Old Gold’s shopping list being revealed.

“Finally backing the manager it seems,” a fan said, as other positive views on the report flooded in.

“Let him cook,” another added, as a fellow supporter set their sights on a European adventure, “Passports ready anyway.”

A fellow Wolves fan described the plan as ‘refreshing’ and having the potential to be a ‘marvellous window’ ahead of the 2025/26 season kick-off.

“I’ll be the happiest man alive,” another supporter admitted.

“Is the penny finally dropping?” A Wolves fan asked.

There was a lot of positive reaction, but for others, the update was merely received as the bare minimum.

“That’s the bare minimum,” a fan said, as another insisted that central defensive acquisitions should be the priority.

“Centre backs should be your number one priority! If you’re considering Pubill as an RCB, you’ll also need an LCB!”

“It’s a minimum,” another said before elaborating, “just hoping more of the same calibre coming in like we sold.”

Some were positive and others had reservations, mainly due to how underprepared the club have been in recent years.

Wolves need quality, not just bodies

The update is positive, but only if Wolves recruit the right people.

It’s not a case of merely replenishing the squad, as when looking at the calibre of players that the Old Gold have already lost this summer, there’s a real task to tend to.

Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo directly contributed to 36 of Wolves’ 54 goals last season, an astounding chunk that needs to be replaced.

Whether replacing the trio like for like is possible remains to be seen, but what is for sure is that the West Midlands club need to aim high.

Fans are split on what to think of Pereira’s transfer list, with a lot of opinion set to become clearer once names are uttered.
