As the transfer window starts to wind down, Wolves are continuing to work on completing deals.
Saturday’s game against Everton showcased why the Old Gold need to bring new faces in. The performance was far from impressive as they lost their third straight Premier League game.
Ladislav Krejci has come in to bolster the defence, but new additions further up the pitch are desperately needed.
Tolu Arokodare is on his way to Wolves, and will add more depth to the frontline at Molineux. Meanwhile, there have been multiple links to different midfielders over the last few days.
Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney was linked with Wolves, and Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin is on the market with Wolves interested in the Belgian.
However, the solution to midfield may be in signing a player who the club has liked for quite a long time.
Wolves in talks to sign Josh Brownhill

Wolves are in the hunt for a midfielder; that much is known. Recently over the summer, long-term target Josh Brownhill has become a free-agent after leaving Burnley.
The English midfielder was most recently linked to Wolves in January, but a move never came to fruition.
Sky Sports are now reporting that Wolves are back in talks for Josh Brownhill ahead of the transfer deadline.
The club ‘have held discussions with Brownhill’s representatives in regards to a potential deal,’ but there may be some difficulties in completing this transfer.
The Old Gold face some tough competition to secure his signature with Saudi side Al-Shabab offering ‘more than £100,000 per week.’
It is the kind of figures that Wolves do not usually tend to give out to their players, and they more than likely wouldn’t be able to match the wages on offer.
However, Vitor Pereira could convince the former Burnley man to continue to play his football at the highest level in the Premier League.
Josh Brownhill would satisfy the homegrown quota for Wolves
There are many positives to a potential Josh Brownhill signing.
First of all, he is a free agent so there would not be any large fee needing to be forked out to sign him.
Secondly, Brownhill would fit the Premier League’s homegrown quota rule, something Wolves are being held back by in the transfer market.
Vitor Pereira wants at least two more players, but one of the signings must be homegrown, unless there is some outgoings before the deadline.
The 29-year-old got 24 goal contributions (18 goals and six assists) for Burnley last season, and would add some much-needed quality and experience in midfield.
