Talk of Gary O’Neil’s exit from Wolves has dominated the headlines as it appears he could get sacked sooner rather than later.
Following the 4-0 defeat to Everton on Wednesday night, fans were desperate to see Gary O’Neil sacked, but he’s somehow remained in his job at Molineux.
O’Neil has the second-worst loss rate at Wolves in the modern era, behind only Terry Connor, and the 41-year-old is on borrowed time.
Wolves are prepared to give O’Neil the West Ham game on Monday, although, depending on the result, he could be shown the exit door.
The Old Gold are already eyeing up their replacement, having held talks with Graham Potter and sounded out David Moyes as another option.
And with the January transfer window on the horizon, a decision will have to be made on O’Neil’s future amid interest in one centre-forward.

Wolves join six-horse race to sign Celtic striker Daniel Cummings
According to the Daily Mail, Wolves have joined Brentford, Fulham, Ipswich, Sunderland and Burnley in the race to sign Celtic striker Daniel Cummings in January.
Cummings has been in ‘prolific’ form for Celtic’s youth team this term, with the 18-year-old plundering an impressive 22 goals in 20 appearances, including five strikes in the UEFA Youth League.
As per the report, the 2006-born striker sees his contract expire next summer and is yet to agree a new deal with Scottish giants.
This has prompted several clubs to line up for his signature, with the Scotsman set to cost between £230,000 and £330,000 in training compensation if he leaves Parkhead.
A transfer for Cummings could be put on the back burner as Wolves resolve the future of O’Neil however, he is one player who could be snapped up for a bargain price.
Where else do Wolves need to strengthen in the transfer window
While Cummings has impressively outscored Matheus Cunha this term, who has fired seven Premier League goals himself, a transfer for a centre-forward isn’t a priority.
With Jorgen Strand Larsen flying in front of goal and Cunha floating in behind, finding the net hasn’t been an issue this term, but their defence has.
Wolves have the worst set-piece record in Europe, conceding 11 goals from dead-ball situations while 36 in total this term.
As a result, Wolves are looking to sign a new centre-back in January, with only veteran Craig Dawson, Santi Bueno and Toti Gomes as options.
For any manager potentially coming in, fixing this leaky defence is most important, and then perhaps a move for a new winger can be eyed.
That said, the major problem in all of that is Fosun, with Wolves operating on a limited transfer budget and the owner unwilling to part ways with his cash.
